Many top Australian universities have partnered with VIEC to offer scholarships ranging from 20% to 50% for qualified Sri Lankan students. To secure these, you must apply early for the July intake, as these limited slots are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

What is the current Show Money requirement?

The required show funds depend on a case by case basis, including university fees, your chosen course, your assets, living expenses, and return travel costs to Sri Lanka. How do I turn my degree into residency?

The most common route is the Post Study Work Visa, which allows you to stay and work for up to 4 years after graduating. This provides the local work experience needed to secure points for your Australian Permanent Residency (PR).

Can I cover my living costs while studying?

Yes, international students can work 48 hours per fortnight during semesters and full-time during breaks. Most students find that part-time work in hospitality, retail, or aged care comfortably covers their monthly rent and groceries.

What is the culture like for Sri Lankans?

If you are studying a Masters by Research or a PhD, you can generally bring your spouse and children as dependents. For Masters by Coursework, rules vary, so it is best to check your eligibility with a counsellor specifically for the July 2026 intake.
